Book by James Lapine Originally directed on Broadway by James Lapine Orchestration by Jonathan Tunick James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. One of Sondheim's most popular works, Into the Woods is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actors adept at dark comedy. Designers will especially enjoy highlighting the fantastical elements of this magical word. |

PUFFS - FEBRUARY 11-27, 2022
Puffsby Matt Cox
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. The New York Times proclaims Puffs “A fast-paced romp through the ‘Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.’ For Potterphiliacs who grew up alongside Potter and are eager to revisit that world, Puffs exudes a jovial, winking fondness for all things Harry!” This clever and inventive play “never goes more than a minute without a laugh” (Nerdist) giving you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers “who are so lovable and relatable, you’ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along” (Hollywood Life). Their “hilariously heartfelt!” (Metro) and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be. Puffs is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed or endorsed by J.K Rowling, Warner Bros. or any person or company associated with the Harry Potter books, films or play. |

First performed around 1596, Shakespeare's comic fantasy of four lovers who find themselves bewitched by fairies is a sly reckoning with love, jealousy and marriage. For centuries it’s been one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays. Four Athenians run away to the forest only to have the fairy, Puck, make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end, Puck reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry. |

So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. By FREDERICK KNOTT
Wait Until Dark is a suspenseful thriller, set in 1960's New York. Synopsis: Susy is a newly blind woman whose husband brings home a doll from a business trip that, unbeknownst to him, holds something very valuable to some unsavory characters hell bent on getting it back. she loves me - february 1 - 17, 2019
She Loves Me
by Tennessee Williams
Considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. Georg works at a modest Hungarian parfumerie and spends his free time pouring out his heart in anonymous letters to Dear Friend, the love of his life. Amalia gets a job at the shop and its immediately clear how much they hate each other. It’s also immediately clear – to the audience – that Amalia is Georg’s Dear Friend. What will it take for Georg to realize that she loves him and for Amalia to realize that there’s something about a man who won’t help her find her Other Shoe when he brings her Vanilla Ice Cream!?! BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS
by Neil Simon
Dreaming of baseball and girls, Eugene must cope with the mundane existence of his family life in Brooklyn; formidable mother, overworked father, and his worldly older brother Stanley. Throw into the mix his widowed Aunt Blanche and her two young (but rapidly aging) daughters and you have a recipe for hilarity. Here is part one of Simon's autobiographical trilogy: a portrait of the writer as a young teen in 1937 living with his family in a crowded, lower middle-class Brooklyn walk-up. VIEW THE PHOTO ALBUM |

JULIUS CAESARby William Shakespeare
adapted by Jenny Meisinger A Shakespeare in the City Production in collaboration with Historic St. Mary's City. Julius Caesar has returned to Rome triumphant from the war against Roman General Pompey. The Roman republic is prepared to heap him with new honors, causing concern and dismay among some senators who fear that too much power is held by one man. Caius Cassius plots a conspiracy to murder Caesar, enlisting the support of the well-respected Marcus Brutus who has misgivings but is finally persuaded that Caesar's death is necessary for the good of the republic. The tragedy of Julius Caesar is one of several plays written by Shakespeare based on true events from Roman history. A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE - JANUARY 26- FEBRUARY 11, 2018
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
by Tennessee Williams
The play reveals to the very depths the character of Blanche du Bois, a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions, which lead her to reject—so far as possible—the realities of life with which she is faced and which she consistently ignores. The pressure brought to bear upon her by her sister, with whom she goes to live in New Orleans, intensified by the earthy and extremely "normal" young husband of the latter, leads to a revelation of her tragic self-delusion and, in the end, to madness. |

A FEW GOOD MEN - APRIL 15 - MAY 1, 2016
A FEW GOOD MENBy Aaron Sorkin
During the summer of 1986, two Marines are on trial for complicity in the death of a fellow Marine at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The Navy lawyer, a callow young man more interested in softball games than the case, expects a plea bargain and a cover up of what really happened. Prodded by a female member of his defense team, the lawyer eventually makes a valiant effort to defend his clients and, in so doing, puts the military mentality and the Marine code of honor on trial. Featuring the the Great Mills NJROTC Drill Team |

BYE BYE BIRDIE - JULY 8 - 31, 2016
BYE BYE BIRDIEBy Michael Stewart, Charles Strouse and Lee Adams
The year is 1958, and the much-adored rock and roll idol - Conrad Birdie - has been drafted into the US Army. His songwriter and agent, Albert Peterson, along with Albert's secretary and girlfriend Rose Alvarez have created a brilliant plan for a huge send off. They're going to have Conrad sing his latest song "One Last Kiss" on the Ed Sullivan show, AND actually give one last kiss to Kim MacAfee, President of the Conrad Birdie Fan Club in Sweet Apple, Ohio. Hopefully, this will ensure a huge hit for Conrad, keep the public's adoration for the new G.I. and ultimately keep Almaelou records from going under. |

As You Like ItBy William Shakespeare
Adapted by Jenny Meisinger Comic twists and turns abound in the fertile Forest of Arden where a disguised Rosalind seeks refuge after being wrongfully banished by her aunt. Accompanied by her cousin; Celia, and the fool, Touchstone, the unfortunate exile is transformed into a charming adventure when they encounter some of Shakespeare's most beloved characters - colorful fools, lovelorn shepherds, a camp of lords-turned-foresters, and the handsome, lovesick Orlando. While in disguise, Rosalind cleverly navigates her love for Orlando and his love for her, in this timeless and transcendent romantic comedy. |

MOON OVER BUFFALO BY Ken Ludwig - SEPTEMBER 19 - OCTOBER 5, 2014
MOON OVER BUFFALOBy Ken Ludwig
In the madcap comedy tradition of Lend Me a Tenor the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they're playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in repertory in Buffalo, New York with 5 actors. They receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong. |

Picnic BY WILLIAM INGE - APRIL 17 - MAY 3, 2015
PICNICBy William Inge
Set in a small town in 1950s Kansas, the play takes place on Labor Day weekend in the joint backyards of Helen Potts and Flo Owens, who runs a boardinghouse with her daughters Madge and Millie. A young stranger named Hal (seemingly a vagrant) is passing through town, working for food. His animal vitality threatens to seriously upset the lives of these women, nearly all of whom are entranced by him. Picnic is perhaps William Inge's most acclaimed play and with good reason. Inge was known as "The Playwright of the Midwest" and his works reflect his powerful understanding of the attitudes and lifestyles of Midwesterners, a decidedly different place than the West, South or East Coast. |

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM BY Shevelove, Gelbert, and Sondheim JULY 10 - 26, 2015
A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUMBy Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbert
Music by Stephen Sondheim Broadway's greatest farce is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent, and one of the funniest musicals ever written. It takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from the time-tested 2,000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. This unforgettable, hysterical musical has "something for everyone - a comedy tonight!" |
