Making Live theatre available for everyone.
NTP is committed to bridging the gap between our MainStage plays and our outreach program. Participants of all abilities, from all walks of life, are encouraged to audition for our shows an volunteer backstage. NTP believes theatre is for everyone - regardless of physical or intellectual ability. If you or someone in your life faces access challenges and wants to be involved in theatre, we hope you keep NTP in mind.
ASL Interpreted Programs
Starting in our 14th Season, NTP began adding sign language interpretation to our Shakespeare in the City events. For four years we have had ASL nights and we add more programming each year.
Assisted Listening Devices
Assisted listening devices using headphones and/or neck loops are available at the Box Office before performances. Please see the house manager or an usher prior to the show and bring your ID to check out an assisted listening device.
Accessibility
Three Notch Theatre is handicap accessible and can provide seating for patrons with mobility restrictions. We have made great strides in making our stage more accessible as well, adding a backstage ramp in 2018. If someone in your party is in need of handicap seating please let the box office attendant know upon arrival and we will be happy to assist you.
Equal Opportunity
NTP endorses the goals of diversity and inclusion, the principle of equal opportunity, and condemns racism, prejudice, discrimination, and exclusion for all participants in NTP activities. To these ends, it is NTP’s policy that no person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in participation, membership, or production opportunities in any theatrical discipline or area of theatrical production based on race, color, culture, age, gender, physical disability, or sexual orientation. While we recognize that there can be no interference with the artistic integrity or contractual rights of the author, director, or other production members, we urge all NTP participants to challenge traditional stereotypes. We acknowledge that the growth and vitality of our theater is dependent upon the inclusion of diverse voices and impulses in writing, casting, directing, and producing. Casting decisions must be based upon the needs of the production. There shall be no agreements made to cast based on factors not inherently tied to the production.
Outreach Programs
Our Outreach Chairman organizes 2-4 special events each year in partnership with local non-profit organizations who cater to individuals with special needs. Special needs guests and their caregivers enjoy performances especially tailored to meet their need requirements and provide a fully interactive and immersive experience.
