The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, usually shortened to Hamlet, is set in Denmark, the play depicts Prince Hamlet and his revenge against his uncle, Claudius, who has murdered Hamlet's father in order to seize his throne and marry Hamlet's mother.
Hamlet is considered among the most powerful and influential works of world literature. It was one of Shakespeare's most popular works during his lifetime and still ranks among his most performed plays.

When are the performances? (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) August 12-13 & 19-21. All performances start at 7:30.
Where are the performances? Outdoors at Historic St Mary’s City on the lawn of the State House.
How long is the show? The show runs about 2 hours, including intermission.
Is the show appropriate for children? This show is rated PG-13 for violence, suicide and adult themes.
How do I get tickets? To purchase tickets in advance, click on the button above to go to our online box office. You can also purchase tickets in The Shop at Farthing’s Ordinary (box office) the evening of the performance. The on-site box office will open at 6:30.
How much are tickets? All performances are $18 for adults; $16 for NTP Members and Friends of HSMC; $15 seniors, military, and students; $13 for children 6 – 11; children 5 and younger are free.
Where do I pick up my tickets? The Shop at Farthing’s Ordinary.
When should I arrive? The will call desk and box office open 1 hour before the start of the show, but you are welcome to arrive as early as 6 to claim lawn space.
Where do I park? The State House parking lot off of Route 5.
What should I bring? Food, blankets, and lawn chairs are welcome on site. Bug repellant is also recommended. Please do not bring your pets as they are not allowed on site. No alcohol may be brought on site.
Can I purchase food, drinks and/or alcoholic beverages? There will be food and beverage service, provided by Enso Kitchen. Due to liquor license requirements, only alcoholic beverages purchased on-site will be allowed.
What if it rains? The show must and will go on! The stage will be moved underneath the new pavilion located behind The Shop at Farthings Ordinary.
I’ve purchased tickets and now am unable to attend that night, can I get a refund? Tickets are non-refundable, but we are happy to change your reservations to another evening. Exchanged tickets must be used during the run of show for Hamlet and cannot be transferred to main stage productions at NTP.
What if I forget to bring a chair or bug repellant? We will have chairs available to rent for $1 and bug repellant wipes available to purchase for $1.
