Poster Contest for Kids & Teens
An Art Contest for Kids & Teens
Promoting the Arts
To commemorate our 10th anniversary season, The Newtowne Players is sponsoring an arts poster contest to encourage young people in Southern Maryland to express their visions of the performing arts and specifically theatre.
This art contest consists of an original theme incorporating the performing arts and “What Community Theatre Means to Me.” The works created are unique and express the young artists’ life experiences and interpretations of the performing arts. Works may include scenes from favorite shows, images of popular playwrights, historical depictions of theater, etc.
A panel of judges, made up of various Newtowne Players members and local artists, will judge each poster on originality, artistic merit, and expression of the theme.
First, second, and third place winners in each grade category will be notified on or before January 6, 2014, via phone or email. Winners will be publicly announced after January 6.
