Membership
Membership Requirements
- Dues in the amount of $25 annually shall be paid at the beginning of the membership term.
- Members are expected to participate in at least one production each season in any capacity. (This can include ticket taking, set construction, concession sales, childcare for actors, costume design, etc.)
- Anyone accepting a role in a Newtowne Players performance must be a member of The Newtowne Players.
Membership Term
- The membership term shall begin on the date dues are paid and shall continue for one year from that date. The member will be given one months prior notice for membership renewal.
Membership Rights
- Receive a membership card granting member to a $2 discount to regular ticket price of 5 NTP productions per membership term.
- Receive a copy of the NTP by-laws
- Suggest improvements to the by-laws
- Have voting privileges, including the selection of Executive Council members, changes in the by-laws and The Triple Notch Awards.
- Receive via e-mail the agenda for the upcoming Executive Council meeting, should they choose to attend the meeting and address a particular agenda item.
- Receive via e-mail the minutes and committee reports from each Executive Council meeting.
- Receive via e-mail a link to our members-only newsletter The Newtowne News.
- Be contacted prior to the expiration of his/her membership, to remind the member of his/her renewal date.
- Serve on the Executive Council, provided that person was nominated and voted on by a quorum of the membership.
- Have the option to participate on any sub-committee formed by the Executive Council.
- Perform in NTP productions if chosen through the standard audition process.
- Be recognized and receive awards for their service to NTP
Membership Responsibilities
- Sign a Newtowne Players liability waiver
- Complete a Skills Inventory and update it as needed.
- Complete an entry in the volunteer time sheet binder whenever engaged in volunteer service to NTP.
- Take ownership of our theatre space and make sure that any mess or trash is cleaned up before leaving the space.
- Be an ambassador of The Newtowne Players. As such, members are expected to present a positive image of our organization to the general public and will not do or say anything that might reflect poorly on the organization.
- Be respectful to other members, the Three Notch Theater facility, and NTP properties and wardrobe items.
- Make their personal safety and the safety of others a highest priority when involved in NTP business.
Meetings
The regular membership meeting will be held annually with proper notification in writing to the membership. This meeting will also be publicly advertised. Members are invited and encouraged to attend the membership meetings.Download a copy of the Membership Rights and Responsibilities here.
